Les fours de potiers pr\u00e9sents dans le centre ancien t\u00e9moignent de cette \u00e9poque.<br>C\u2019est sous le r\u00e8gne d\u2019Henri IV que le bourg de Roanne se d\u00e9veloppe. Outre le quartier du ch\u00e2teau nomm\u00e9 aujourd\u2019hui \u00ab centre ancien \u00bb, on trouve le Bourg Neuf et le Bourg Basset qui s\u2019\u00e9tendent jusque sur les bords de la Loire. Suite \u00e0 ce fl\u00e9au, les mariniers construisent une chapelle d\u00e9di\u00e9e \u00e0 leur patron Saint Nicolas. La chapelle des mariniers, lieu de r\u00e9union et de culte est toujours pr\u00e9sente au port.<br>En 1864, Roanne est la quatri\u00e8me ville \u00e0 obtenir la l\u00e9gion d\u2019honneur. Dix ans plus tard, \u00e0 proximit\u00e9, s\u2019\u00e9leva un Th\u00e9\u00e2tre \u00e0 l\u2019italienne. Le pont en pierre sur la Loire qui relie Roanne \u00e0 la ville Le Coteau date de 1834. Avant cette ann\u00e9e, de nombreux ponts en bois furent construits et d\u00e9truits \u00e0 chaque crue de la Loire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Source : <a
